The Serpentine’s Summer Party
July 13, 2009 by J.T.

“Beauty, brains, decadence and good drink – that’s what makes a good party, and that’s what’s here tonight,” said Mario Testino, one of the eclectic crowd of guests at the Serpentine Gallery’s annual cocktail bash – a key event on the London social calendar that also marks the unveiling of the summer architectural pavilion.
Guests, who included Bianca Jagger, Jade Jagger, thandie Newton, Matthew Williamson, Kanye West, Gareth Pugh, Carson McColl, Sophia Hesketh, Jasmine Guiness, Damien Hirst, Hussein Chalayan, Pharrell Williams, Natalie Imbruglia, Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicoll, Stephen Webster and Sir Philip Green, sipped champagne and rose-tea cocktails, and mingled under the aluminum pavilion canopy created by Japanese architecture practice SANAA.
