Why Rachel Zoe Loves DVF
August 31, 2009
In tonight Rachel Zoe project we will get to see Rachel Zoe visiting Diane Von Furstenberg studio to get a sneak peak of the Fall Winter 2009 Collection.
Diane explained “This collection is called ‘nomad’. Wherever she goes, she belongs. Her clothes are her friends.” Diane continued to explain that much of the inspiration was drawn from her travels in the Middle East. She eloquently mentioned “The inspiration for this collection was also to give women real clothes, comfy warm pieces. The colors are drawn from the desert tones.”
Womens loves DVF because like Diane pointed out, it’s real clothes. We saw beautiful looks on the runways but sometimes it’s most likely not wearable and frequently very expensive. With Diane Von Furstenberg collections it’s different, your runway dream can definitely come to reality!
Here is one of the few pieces we love, Printed taffeta dress Diane Von Furstenberg updates her iconic wrap dress with this multicolored taffeta style.
it’s the must have piece of the season, it goes with everything, we love how it’s accessorized on the fashion show. You can get it for $425. Diane von Furstenberg Printed taffeta dress

Gucci’s Snowman to Aid UNICEF
August 31, 2009

For its annual “Gucci Campaign to Benefit UNICEF” project, Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini collaborated with author and illustrator Michael Roberts to publish a children’s book titled “Snowman in Africa.”
The book will be on sale in 200 Gucci stores worldwide and on gucci.com for $25 from Nov. 16 to Dec. 31. All proceeds will go to UNICEF and book-signing events are scheduled in Gucci flagships in New York, Paris and London.
In parallel with the launch of “Snowman in Africa”, Frida Giannini has created a series of accessories that will range from $50 to $5,000.
Giannini designed two new medium-sized Joy bags featuring the snowman and another one with an elephant and foliage print.
There will also be key rings and add-on charms shaped as characters from the book, alongside printed small leathergoods.
Twenty-five percent of sales from those items will be contributed to UNICEF.
The Gucci Campaign to Benefit UNICEF has started 5 years ago and has raised $7 million for the U.N. charity.
The Gucci UNICEF campaign has supported education, health care, protection and clean water programs for children and orphans affected by HIV and AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.
This year it has added South Africa to the regions it will support, along with Malawi and Mozambique.

Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2010 Eyewear Line
August 31, 2009

Stella McCartney will launch a new eyewear line for the Spring Summer 2010 Collection.
The designer is now collaborating with Luxottica Group which also licenses eyewear for luxury brands such as Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Prada.
The line will retail from $180 to $250 and is intended to be a combination of practical, everyday aviator and wayfarer styles mixed with statement pieces and attention-grabbing frames.
McCartney said her goal is to fuse timeless pieces with “edgier, younger, eye-catching styles….For me, it was important to make lightweight, comfortable sunglasses that are not a chore or cumbersome to wear. There are pieces to fall back on and wear any time of year in any place and pieces that will help you draw attention to yourself.”
McCartney designed eyewear when she was creative director at Chloé. We remember the success that had the pair of Chloe sunglasses featuring the rhinestone heart. After launching her own label, she produced eyewear in a license with Safilo Group for five years before pairing up with Luxottica.
We wonder if we will see some exclusive fashion show sunglasses pieces at the Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2010 collection.
