Sonia Rykiel Pour H&M Party At The Grand Palais
December 12, 2009
Tuesday December 2, 2009 – Grand Palais
Take the iconic Sonia Rykiel, H&M, the most amazing models, an army of fashionistas and celebs, mix them all together in The Grand Palais and you’ll get a magical result. We’re still taking everything in given how last night’s event was simply magical, surprising, original and unique. Sonia Rykiel & H&M transformed the Grand Palais into a Parisian fantasyland. Everything that makes Paris so “incroyable” was recreated for the occasion. After walking into an enchanted forest we discovered Saint Germain Des Pres, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, La Grande Roue De Paris, and even some typical Brasseries with food by Le Nôtre. The worldwide Press turned out in droves just to witness the unveiling of the much-hyped collection.

Sonia Rykiel and Nathalie Rykiel welcomed guests such as Kate Bosworth, Eva Herzigova, Nadja Auermann, Emmanuelle Beart, Andrés Velencoso, and Jean Paul Gaultier before leading them under the specially made eleven-story high Eiffel Tower to discover the “Sonia Rykiel Pour H&M” collection.

Like a page out of Alice in Wonderland, the night’s festivities were beyond jovial and exciting, with models dancing, swinging, and even biking in front of the 2,000-odd guests while fireworks set off inside the Grand Palais. But one didn’t need to wait until the launch date to snag a few of the much desired Rykiel-H&M pieces – there was a full featured Sonia Rykiel & H&M store sur place, with all the sales proceeds donated to “All For Children” H&M Unicef. From what we saw, the cash registers didn’t stop ringing until the very late hours, with buyers scrambling to get every single Rykiel piece possible. And to top it all off, as if the even didn’t need more, a full-blown dance party started right after the parade, with every single attendee busting a move under the Eiffel Tower with DJBag/Jerry Bouthier + Andrea Gorgerino & Alice Dellal on the DJ Booth.

The Sonia Rykiel pour H&M lingerie (from $9.95 to $99) debuts in around 1,500 H&M stores worldwide from December 5, as well as the knitwear collection for women and girls, which arrives in around 200 stores on February 20, 2010.
