Mr. Brainwash Icons NYC Solo Exhibition

Thursday February 11th, 2010 – Meatpacking District – Starting February 14th 2010 @ 3 pm

French born Pop artist Mr. Brainwash (Thierry Guetta) has landed in New York City. He didn’t came alone, with him he brought his icons pieces to fill up a 15,000 square feet gallery. We know the location but we’ll wait for mrbrainwash.com to reveal the exhibit exact address. Some said it has already been unvealed by the artist facebook fan page. The exhibit includes variation of the CD cover he created for Madonna’s greatest hits collection Celebration but also a full sized taxi cabs as Matchbox cars and many more “icons”. The first 300 people will receive a free hand finished screen print.

    everybody should take a new york moment out of there lives stop what your doing shopping eating and trying to fit in at the standard or pastis with your cocktails and do something real opening
    go and check out this art space with all the great art hanging up etc
    my god its free what else do you want this guy is pure genuis so much to see and inspire a artist like myself may one day i will be blessed as with an art show so want are you wanting for the show ends june the 7th make time and go open your eyes to the art and then go to dinner to enjoy the rest of the night having done something poisitive

    it s very nice drawings, but something tells me that it s not mr brainwash who s doing them, i think it s banksy, have you seen the film “exit….” he isn t able to keep a blade !!! i think that it s banksy who manages the succes of brainwash with his drawing.

    because it is. it’s part of the banksy brand. the film is almost a confession, using brainwash as the example. banksy nowadays is just the idea; the branding. he has other people doing work for him, much like clothing designers who stamp their name on their product. like the omnipresent rat graffiti. it’s done by david hirsch, but it’s labeled as banksy’s work. it’s the whole street art evolution, but kind of goes away from its initial goal – honesty.
