Kris Van Assche Spring Summer 2012 Collection
June 24, 2011 by J.T.
Friday June 24, 2011 – Palais de la Femme / Armée du Salut
For his Spring 2012 show, Kris Van Assche put a spin on LA noire, with pieces that draw on Cali’s cool, laid-back attitude. Street to comfy chic, Kris evokes the idea of skaters hopping off their boards and into a loosely fitted suit. The pants are short and baggy, while a hybrid “suit vest” had polo-length sleeves. Contrary to his usual edgy style, details like patch pockets, large flat buttons, and buckles remind you that it’s all about a man’s classic wardrobe.
For his second season in a row, KVA collaborated with Eastpak on a new line of mens bags, this time opting for lighter colors with shades of grays and polo matching red trims and stripes. We also saw the debut of the designer’s eponymous eyewear line, developed with Linda Farrow, which showcased new metallic framed designs that are sure to be hits with the fashion forward.
