Like a tan, bleach blonde and wild Catherine Deneuve, the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012-2013 woman is luxuriously nonchalant. she crisscrosses the global meridians, traveling to exotic locales or simply as an über chic urbanite. White is the basis of her wardrobe with shades of burnt and warm browns and gold mixed with feminine touches of pink, lavender, sky, or rich indigo pigments. The strong graphics and geometric touches are reminiscent of Vasarely or David Hicks yet with a hint of vintage sixties. Like a 3D print, english embroidery is enlarged and embroidered with sequins. Layering, true to the 2012 autumn-winter collection’s spirit, can appear as a composite figure, despite its harmonious contrasted proportions. Slipped beneath the dresses are short pants. Those that are done in wider and longer proportions morph into fluid shorts, until they become loose and flexible ‘shorts-skirts’.

The micro shorts in jacquard paired with matching jacket is the new summer suit. The sleeveless jacket or tunic with an open neckline married to layered pieces complete the rich, sophisticated look.
