Louis Vuitton Place Vendome Boutique Opening

July 4, 2012 by

Tuesday July 3, 2012 – 23 Place Vendome

Almost nothing has changed since 1854, when Louis Vuitton (1821-1892) opened his Maison at number 4, rue Neuve des Capucines, just behind the townhouse that is now home to the first Louis Vuitton store dedicated to fine jewellery and watchmaking at 23, Place Vendôme. the most beautiful square in Paris, this symbol of elegance and refinement, has been pursuing its fabulous destiny for two centuries.

This showcase for the finest stones, born of the luminous modernity of the 17th century and set like a precious gem in the row of white classical façades, invites passers-by and customers to experience a glittering new dream of travel.

All of the excellence of Louis Vuitton’s know-how will now be brought to the fine jewellery workshop situated under the roof of an elegant townhouse built in the 17th century, which is still home to ancient workbenches where generation after generation of jewellers have sat.
Within the walls of this workshop, the guardian of a treasured heritage, Louis Vuitton has created a contemporary and light-filled showcase, with a magnificent view over the elegant Place Vendôme. the new space will be a source of inspiration for the artisans working there, whose craftsmanship will perpetuate the excellence of the Maison’s tradition, paired with the boldness of its innovation. Precious stones from all over the world will come to their journey’s end here in the expert hands of men and women who will give them the radiance of a new life in sparkling sets of jewels. exceptional pieces will be created here that will recount and celebrate the continually renewed legend of Spirit of travel that is unique to the Maison Louis Vuitton.

after taking its inspiration from far-off destinations and world cultures, L’ame du Voyage, the fine jewellery collection designed by Lorenz Bäumer, is stopping off in Paris for its third instalment. a collection conceived as a stroll along the famous path that led the young Louis Vuitton from the arc de triomphe to the tuileries gardens – with wonderful discoveries en route – to Place Vendôme, a stone’s throw from rue Neuve des Capucines where he opened his first store in 1854.
