On September 12th, Net-A-Porter.com, the world’s premier online luxury fashion destination, and acclaimed Paris-based designer, Esteban Cortazar, will debut his new eponymous designer collection to the press and the public simultaneously during New York Fashion Week.
In an exclusive collaboration between Net-A-Porter and Cortazar, this 17 look-collection was born over a conversation between Fashion Director, Holli Rogers, and the designer.
“Through a chance encounter with Esteban after he had left Ungaro, we conceived the idea of his return to fashion with a collection that will be available for sale the moment it is revealed to the world,” said Holli Rogers, Fashion Director at Net-A-Porter.
“We have never been this engaged with a designer from concept and production and, ultimately, through an exclusive launch directly to the public, forgoing the conventional approach of showing the collection six months before it becomes available to the public. We felt this was a wonderful opportunity to support a young designer and re-establish his business by creating an exclusive partnership on Net-A-Porter at the same time.”
From conception to the final designs, Net-A-Porter provided Cortazar the resources to develop and produce this collection enabling his return to the fashion world, while creating a unique and exclusive offering for their global fashion customer.
“so many times women see collections they love, but can’t purchase them until months later when it hits stores. I figured what better way to return to fashion, than to launch a collection during fashion week that gives women the rare opportunity to purchase and wear the clothes immediately after seeing them.” Esteban Cortazar says.
Over 30 pieces will be offered as part of the collection, including elegant evening dresses, razor-sharp jumpsuits, structured jackets, avant-garde blouses, meticulously designed pants in a neutral palette of rose gold, nude and off-white, and statement jewelry made in collaboration with designer Alican Icoz. The pieces can be described as architectural with a feminine sensibility, as well as a modern approach to tailoring, layering and asymmetric shapes. Pricing ranges from $270 for a rose gold oversized jersey t-shirt to $2715 for a belted coat with satin facing and removable fur gilet.
