Tuesday June 18th, 2013 - London’s Kensington Gardens
Burberry today showed its Burberry Prorsum menswear Spring/Summer 2014 collection in London’s Kensington Gardens. Part of London Collections: Men, the event marked the first Burberry menswear show in the brand’s home town after over ten years in Milan. Burberry has supported London Collections: Men since its launch in June 2012, celebrating British menswear through events at its London stores.
“London is our home town, it brims with creative energy and we are so proud to have shown our menswear collection here today.”
“A celebration of artistic and intellectual spirit, with a nod and a wink to Alan Bennett and David Hockney. Easy, relaxed tailoring sits alongside lightweight pieces in linen and slouchy cashmere, while accessories add bright pops of colour among the painterly tones. Weatherproof cagoules and sou’westers take the whole collection outdoors and into the British summer.” Said Christopher Bailey
For the first time, eyewear features as part of Burberry’s Runway Made to Order service, and can be personalised with initials on the inside of the temple. The new sunglasses line, called Burberry Wave are a distinctive square frame sun style with bold brow detail. The Burberry Wave Clear is a vibrant translucid style and the Burberry Wave Dot is a bold patterned style with dots.
The Burberry Wave sunglasses will drop in stores in February 2014.
