Back in August, Lady Gaga shared the exciting news that she will be starring along with the iconic singer Tony Bennett in H&M’s upcoming holiday campaign. While we already had a glitch of the campaign with a behind the scene photo, yesterday the queen of pop unveiled the first images of the campaign via her instagram, and it’s looking good!
H&M revealed today that the H&M’s festive seasonal collection campaign commercial, which will premiere exclusively on November 25th on hm.com will feature Gaga and Bennet singing “It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Aint Got That Swing)” from their number one new album, Cheek To Cheek, which will be sold in select stores across the U.S.
“We were inspired by the glitz, glamour, and opulence of the 1940s’ Big Band era. The mood is one of festive celebration shot through with a strong sense of fashion and underlying humor. It is intriguing, curious, exuberant, audacious, and filled with wonder.” says Johan Renck, director of the commercial.
The campaign paints an enchanting adventure celebrating the holiday spirit of giving and togetherness with an H&M family of supermodels (Sean O’pry, Joan Smalls, Sasha Pivovarova, Charlotte Carey…) and superstars! There’s a glistening mood showing effortless glamour with flirty red dresses and skirts and sequined tops. Knits are a winter essential, including the cozy oversized sweater worn by Lady Gaga in the print campaign.
“I love the feeling of celebration at H&M this holiday season. Women’s dresses sparkle and give a new twist to traditional red, while men look festive in different plaids, and kids in all their different fun prints.” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Head of Design, New Development.
Throughout the holiday season, H&M will raise funds for CARE, a humanitarian organization working alongside underprivileged women and girls to help fight global poverty. All H&M stores will sell a special set of gift labels. For each pack sold, the H&M Conscious Foundation will donate double the sales price to CARE.
