Backstage at Versace Spring 2016

Friday September 25th, 2015 – Palazzo Delle Scintille

Versace finally gets its notorious rock’n’roll status back with Donatella’s new show, probably the best of the last decade. The house has tripled its budget for the show, presented at the Fiera exhibition hall, the house’s model lineup was probably the most expensive cast of the Italian season so far. Gianni was credited with creating the “supermodel” and be part of his shows has always been a consecration. Tonight was no exception, with Naomi Campbell in the front row, Raquel Zimmermann fiercely opened, followed by Natasha Poly,Behati Prinsloo and Gigi Hadid setting the mood on this military inspired collection. The show takes off with oversize jackets with wide belt before merging to these sexy printed neon camouflage dresses, worn with military jackets, Saharan or hussar jackets. Spring 2016 for Versace is going to be both glamor and street, resolutely modern. An IPO is announced in the coming two years. With a double-digit growth for 640 million euros in sales, demand for shares should greatly exceed supply.
