Versace for H&M Cruise 2012 Collection

Following on from the iconic Versace for H&M collection, Donatella Versace has created a brand new cruise collection that will be available from 19th January 2012 as an H&M online exclusive. The collection is designed as a holiday capsule wardrobe that’s also an instant style update for spring. The women’s collection is light and feminine, with a berries and butterflies print on dresses, tops, negligées, dressing gowns and a silk cashmere cardigan. There are also white jeans, bikinis, and accessories such as charm bracelets, print bags, ballet flats and high heels. For men, the focus is on fashion classics like a leather detail wool blazer, jeans and denim shirts, alongside pleat-front shorts in cotton or denim.

Louis Vuitton Cruise 2012 Ad Campaign

After casting her for the collection’s lookbook, Louis Vuitton once again opted for the modern faced Arizona Muse to embody the Cruise 2012 girl. The collection imagined by Julie de Libran and Sofia Coppola, was shot by Mark Segal in azure picturesque Corsica, where a perfectly tanned Arizona poses swinging, almost smirking with nothing but the sea as the background.

Carrying a white perforated version of the classic Saumur bag, a jockey hat and wearing a mini heart printed combi-short topped with a gold metallic collar, Ms. Muse is true to her name for the ideal Cruise look. The same heart print made its debut on the cover of V Magazine 74 The Model Issue. In another shot, the rising american model wears a one piece bathing suit paired with a studded light tweed jacket, accessorized with a big LV chain and a red Sofia Coppola PM bag.

Bottega Veneta Cruise 2012 Ad Campaign by Mona Kuhn

The Bottega Veneta Cruise 2012 campaign, which features both the women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections, has been shot by Mona Kuhn in May, on the roof of the New Museum in New York City. It is the latest in Bottega Veneta’s one-of-a-kind creative collaborations featuring the talents of outstanding artists.

The campaign highlight the weightless, effortless, and urbane vibe of the Cruise 2012 collection. Kuhn’s approach to her photography is unusual in that she usually develops close relationships with her subjects, resulting in images of remarkable naturalness and intimacy. It was this closeness and unforced sensuality that led Bottega Veneta Creative Director Tomas Maier to approach her for the Cruise 2012 collection.

“I wanted to express a closeness in this campaign, the kind of intimacy that is at the heart of Mona’s images,” he explains. “In addition, her precise approach to light and color, and the freshness of her images, are well suited to the mood of the season. I’m very pleased with the images that resulted from our work together.”

Ferragamo Resort 2012 Behind the Scenes Video

Tuesday June 28, 2011 – James B. Duke Mansion, NYC

Ferragamo just released a video shot by Leah Chernikoff that showcases the behind the scenes of the Resort 2012 Collection. The show took place at the Duke Mansion, one of the last homes on Fifth Avenue’s Millionaire Row. The video is like a Jet Set mini film where Massimiliano Giornetti’s creations sparkle among Eva Mendes, Freida Pinto and Karolina Kurkova. Fluid gowns reflect the style of the 1930s with the drapery technique, elegantly revealing the back and moulding sleek shoulders. Fabric is interwoven with small sparkles that create a silvery glow.

Louis Vuitton Cruise 2012 Collection

Who other than Marc Jacobs muse, Sofia Coppola, could have better contributed to Louis Vuitton’s latest collection. The film director and iconic SC bag creator worked with Louis Vuitton’s studio design director Julie de Libran on the Cruise 2012 Collection. Handpicking some of her favorites from Libran’s past creations, Sofia and Julie set about working on their reinterpretation.  For Cruise 2012 the message is clear; you need a Vespa (to go with your Leo Sprouse printed helmet), a fur bolero for chilly evenings, a perforated bag, a heart print jumpsuit and of course a tweed sequined jacket.

The Pre-Fall 2010 heart print was re-conceptualized into miniature form. Another print, featuring the Eiffel Tower and other Parisian monuments, was a recurring theme throughout the collection, done in white, red and navy. To top the playful aspect of the clothes, the show was presented on a full grass installation at the NYC Four Seasons Restaurant.

Bags included vintage shaped pieces, such as the Saumur, refreshed as a perforated Monogram. These classic bags covered the color spectrum using a variety of easily desirable hues, from salmon to black, teal and white. Sofia Coppola’s Louis Vuitton SC bag was also showcased in exciting new colors such teal and hot red.
