Sonia Rykiel Pour H&M Knitwear NYC Launch Party

February 5, 2010

Thursday February 5th, 2010 – Sonia Rykiel Pour H&M Knitwear Launch Party at Bobo

As if the Paris Grand Palais launch of Sonia Rykiel x H&M wasn’t enough, both fashion powerhouses commemorated the collaboration with a fête at Chelsea’s BoBo bar. With Chanel Iman dj-ing on the one’s and two’s, sultry beats pulsated throughout the bar’s 3 floors with tracks from Mariah Carey, Black Eyed Peas and Ladyhawke. We’re guessing if the whole ‘model’ thing doesn’t work out for Chanel, she definitely has a good plan B career.

Meanwhile upstairs, Leighton Meester chatted with Kelly Rutherford while Michelle Williams was pretty in pink, with her “Mon Pull” Rykiel Pin fuchsia jacket (Available starting February 20), talking up a storm with Sonia’s daughter and brand’s artistic director, Nathalie Rykiel. Posing for photogs, the two happily paused their conversations to give their best fashion forward face for the cameras. Drinks flowing, party revelers smiling, and mannequins dressed to the 9’s in Rykiel pour H&M,  que voulez vous de plus?

January 12, 2010

Tom Ford’s Golden Globe-nominated “A Single Man” premiered in Milan on Monday night

“Milan has a wonderful energy and I love the fact that it’s so close to the mountains and you can go skiing every weekend,” said Ford.

Donatella Versace loves “films from the past, especially black-and-white ones with good lighting.” Margherita Missoni, Brian Atwood, Elio Fiorucci and Rosanna Armani also attended the screening, though most eyes were on model Jon Kortajarena, who plays Carlos in the film. He also appears in Ford’s men’s eyewear campaign, so he knows a little bit about the designer’s work ethic. “He really knows what he wants,” said Kortajarena. “He’s very easy to work with, plus he can be very funny.”

Merci x Gap

September 9, 2009

Wednesday September 9th 2009Gap store at 54th street – New York City

Gap has a new trick up its sleeve this fall. The trusty purveyor of blue jeans and khaki pants has teamed up with Merci, a chic, Parisian lifestyle boutique, to open a pop-up shop in New York City, called Merci Gap. For one month only, Merci Gap will occupy the 500-square foot space next to Gap’s flagship store on 5th Avenue.

The original Merci is the brainchild of Marie-France and Bernard Cohen, the founders of Bonpoint (a children’s clothing company they sold in 2003, giving them seed money for Merci). Merci is a “concept shop” stocked with unusual housewares, fashions, perfumes and even fresh flowers. All the proceeds from the shop benefit Accueil des Sans-abri, a non-profit that helps Madagascar’s homeless. (All profits from Merci Gap will go to various children’s charities).
