Frédéric Fekkai & Marchesa Recreate Red Carpet Moments

Superstar hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai is hosting an exciting event for Fashion Night out at its Fifth Avenue Salon at Henri Bendel. Fekkai along with Marchesa and Olivia Palermo will present an interactive red carpet experience for Fashion’s Night Out revelers. New York fashionistas will become the celebrity, selecting from five award winning Marchesa dress moments; the talented Fekkai hair and make-up team will re-create signature  beauty looks while a personal dresser waits to outfit and accessorize shoppers.

Finally, The City star and  fashionista, Olivia Palermo, will be on the red carpet styling and instructing guests how to pose like a star in front of the cameras before having the paparazzi capture their Hollywood moment. All who participate will walk away with a print and digital professional quality photo, sent via email or SMS text message for easy sharing on Facebook and Twitter. $75 for the entire experience and all proceeds will be donated to FNO’s official charity, The New York City AIDS Fund in the New York Community Trust.

H&M Confirms Collaboration with Lanvin

Video: Alber Elbaz on Lanvin and H&M collaboration

Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz and H&M didn’t wait much longer to confirm or denie this week speculations about their possible collaboration. The worldwide Swedish Empire H&M will produce a Lanvin collection, a one-time holiday collection.

H&M said the collection – spanning clothes for women and men – is slated to hit 200 H&M locations worldwide on November 23, 2010.
This confirms a WWD report on Wednesday the retail giant would unveil a project with the hot French label. Lucas Ossendrijver, Lanvin’s men’s wear designer, is also involved in the project.

H&M said the collection would be unveiled to the public on Nov. 2 via a film it will debut on its Website.

Lanvin to Collaborate with H&M ?

H&M teaser videos just surfaced teasing about upcoming collaborations. Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz is on everybody’s lips. Sources tell WWD that a collaboration with a luxury house will be announced very soon, possibly on September 9, which is the date that flashes on the screen at the end of the videos.

While the camera never lingers on the faces long enough for recognition in the clips, the voice-over of designer musings, while electronically altered, are unmistakable Elbaz-isms. “Design is very important because it actually brings dream to our life,” says one.

A Lanvin collaboration would be beneficial for Lanvin and for H&M. Lanvin opened its first NYC store in july 2010.

Ferragamo Launches the W bag on Fashion’s Night Out

Kardashian Sisters to Launch Fashion Brand

Today the Kardashian sisters announced their global partnership with leading international designer Bruno Schiavi and his apparel company, Jupi Corporation. Kim, Khloe and Kourtney will collaborate with Schiavi on a complete brand launch encompassing apparel, home and accessories.

The Kardashians own Dash boutiques in Calabasas, Calif., and Miami and design a collection for Bebe that retails through resort 2011. Kim also designs a costume jewelry line with Pascal Mouawad.

“Designing for Bebe was the perfect first step because it really got our feet wet,” Kim said. “Now we feel that we are ready to branch off and do our own thing with a company that is widely international.”

The initial range to include a women’s RTW collection, handbags, belts, wallets and lingerieexpected to be in-stores in 2011 in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Germany.

Tommy Ton‘s recent mysterious tweet about news that will “SHAKE the fashion world” might be a direct follow up at what Diane Pernet said in June 2009. As of today Diane Pernet described the news as a bombGrazia thinks that Tommy Ton’s big secret is about Karl Lagerfeld being replaced by Albert Elbaz at Chanel“The official announcement should be made in the next few days, so stay tuned for confirmation!” (Grazia).

[UPDATED] Chanel has confirmed that Karl “has a long-term contract” and replacing him “is not an issue”. Move along people…
