Erin Wasson x RVCA to show Spring 2010 Collection at Bryant Park
August 8, 2009

Erin Wasson x RVCA have announced that the brand will show its Spring Summer 2010 Fashion Show at Bryant Park in the tent. The show will take place Friday, September 11th2009 at 8pm, and marks the debut of Erin Wasson x RVCA on the runway.
For the last two seasons Erin Wasson x RVCA showed at Milk Studio. We attended the Fall Winter 2009 Presentation and we loved it.
While lot of designers will now show at Milk due to economical times shows that Erin Wasson x RVCA has a good future and support.
Erin Wasson feels “Humbled and honored”, about being asked to show the new Erin Wasson x RVCA collection at the legendary Bryant Park Tents.
“I’ve spent hours at those Tents as a model, working with some of the icons of American fashion,” she notes. “And meanwhile, I’ve only been doing this design thing for a few seasons, Spring ’10 is season three and it’s kind of insane to think that I’m getting to show on that same stage. I am incredibly grateful to IMG, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and Maybelline New York for giving me the opportunity.”
Erin Wasson plan to present the Spring Summer 20010 collection in a non-conventional way. A multi-media installation is in the works and Wasson has personally engaged a special musical guest to play live on the catwalk, details are under wraps until closer to the show. We can’t wait!
“It’s really a thrill, to be able to take a venue everyone in the fashion industry knows so well, and bring in new personalities and a new vibe that spin the experience in a different direction,” says Wasson. “I mean, it’s almost too predictable to do something ‘cool’ in, like, an abandoned warehouse. Cool can happen anywhere. It’s a state of mind. That’s the essence of the Erin Wasson x RVCA brand, and there’s no reason not to follow that logic onto the runway.”

Balmain Fall Winter 2009 Collection
March 6, 2009
Thursday March 5th 2009 – Paris – Hotel Ritz – 3 pm
Apparently Christophe Decarnin isn’t reading the latest retail financial reports; why should he, since Balmain‘s cut out jeans & military jackets are nearly sold out everywhere, every season. And that’s certainly enough impetus for Christophe to deliver a strong Fall collection, cherry picking inspirations from other designer’s gardens, Leather Quilted Dress with Metallic Chain (Chanel) , Tee Shirt Marin (Jean Paul Gaultier’s signature), Multi Strap Ankle Boots (Louis Vuitton Extreme Ankle Boots Fall 2006), Slouchy Sequins dresses (Alexander Wang Spring 2009), Sequins pants (Thakoon fall 2009), Black satin Bustier Cocktail Dress With Traine (Ungaro), Bow Tops (Alexis Mabille).
Heads were certainly turning on the catwalk as editors chimed in about the collection post-show. “Was this collection a luxurious Zara collection?” mentioned one bold fashion editor. Still, Balmain knows what its customers want and they certainly delivered a collection that was still imbued with the rock-glam couture clients have come to love. And while it may be a more commercial collection, which girl wouldn’t want to wear sequins dresses and own a pair of multistrap ankle boots.
We were happy to see Eva Herzigova, Carmen Kaas and Erin Wasson who told us than Alexander Wang was in town for business and a little fête in his honour chez Colette . Carine Roitfeld was carrying the new Louis Vuitton’s Sofia Coppola Suede Pochette. Julia Restoin Roifeld sported Alexander Wang with a white deconstructed fur jacket on Marc Jacobs black shorts.

Erin Wasson x RVCA Fall Winter 2009 Presentation
February 27, 2009
Wednesday February 18th – 10 pm – Milk Studio
We particularly love Erin Wasson, not only because she is from our generation but more because she is natural, spontaneous, fresh, funny, honest … and talented.
We missed the Spring Summer 2009 Presentation that took place also at the Milk Studio last year so we really wanted to make it this time.

We arrived around 10 pm, we were coming from the Richie Rich Fall Winter 2009 Show (with Pamela Anderson on surprise guest).
By the time we arrived the presentation looked more like a party with Belvedere Vodka designed By Andre as a sponsor. We quickly found Erin that was already hanging out with everyone.

Leighton Meister, Alexander Wang, Coco Rocha (with E Canada), Cory Kennedy came to see the collection. Even Stravos made an appearance hidden under a Hood sweater. The mutual influence between Erin Wasson and Alexander Wang is clear. We found some Erin Wasson influences looks at Alexander Wang Fall Winter 2009 Show and vice versa.

The presentation started with a succession of rock’n roll look, very SoCal, totally Erin. Short denim shorts, Leather jackets, biker boots, tee shirt dresses, ripped jeans… the good news about the collection is that the prices will go from $20 to $100.

Saturday February 14th 2009, 5pm – Roseland Ballroom

The line to enter the Roseland ballroom on 52th street was going all around the street. “which broadway show is the line for” said a women passing by. By the time we’ve got inside we realised that it was going to be a lot of fun, loud late 90′s music, tequila chocolate / tropical topped with Champagne was distributed before the show. Anna Wintour was with her daughter Bee Schaffer, Diane Von Furstenberg came to support Alexander Wang that is CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund’s latest big winner, describing Wang as the most exciting desiner of the moment.

Sarah Jessica Parker was saying that she usually doesn’ come to fashion shows but she loves Alexander Wang’s clothes this is why she is here. Julia Restoin Roitfeld was chatting with Lauren Santo Domingo while Zoe Kravitz and Santogold was posing for photographers.
“This is the type of clothes I love, this is totally me, rock’n roll and confortable” said Erin wasson when asked about Alexander clothes’s Style.

Natasha Polly opened the show wearing a tailored jacket with custom rivet with Michael Jackson’s Thriller on the background. The collection was a succession of 90′s 40 sexy look that everyone will die to get once the collection hit the stores.

We particularly like the wooly demi-cuff cut-out dress with the digital ottoman biker leggings worn by the second model Hannelore, the black metallic croc combat hi-top, the poplin off the shoulder dress, the black oversized leather jacket with saga fox fringe tails, the stretch suede and leather combo cropped leggings, the crystallized Swarovski endless scarf worn by Lily Donaldson, Isabeli Fontana and Trish for the final looks. We overall loved the metal, gunmetal accents on the clothes.

All the looks were perfectly accessorized with beautiful pieces such as the vertebrae earring, desert hats, black velvet combat boots with crystallized swarovski detail, shark cuff and the line of bags made of nappa lambskin leather.

“She wants to have fun, she likes to go out, she is living the time of her life” Said Alexander Wang backstage with Swarovski like sparkling eyes about his girl hitting the runway.

Alexander Wang’s After Party Sweatier Than His Runway Show
September 7, 2008
Alexander Wang’s sweat-inspired runway show Saturday evening was clearly more than just a fashion statement: later that night in a basement space in the far reaches of Chinatown, Erin Wasson and Alice Dellal hosted a perspiration-drenched dance party for the designer that drew a crowd of his beloved ODMs (that’s off-duty models) like Behati Prinsloo, Julia Stegner and Noot Sear.
Wang began the night in a black Hooters T-shirt (“We tried to go there after the show, but they wouldn’t give us our reservation so we went to McDonald’s instead,” he said), but soon stripped down to one of his signature gray tanks and joined the hordes dancing up a storm around a mini, blue-lit runway, waiting for the much ballyhooed surprise performer.
She was worth every bead of sweat: at 11:45 p.m., Foxy Brown took the stage in the designer’s hot pink minidress, telling the roaring crowd, “They put me in jail for a year and my cell was full of Alexander Wang,” before rapping hits like “Candy,” “What’s Your Heaven” and “Hot Spot.”
Turns out Brown was celebrating more than her self-described “good friend” Wang’s collection: it was also her birthday.
“When he asked me to perform and told me it was going to be Sept. 6, I said, ‘You know what? I’m going to give you that!’” she laughed after her half-hour set. Don’t expect to see her all over the front rows in the coming days. “I don’t whore myself out for fashion.” And though it was her first performance since her release from jail earlier this year, Brown didn’t suffer from any stage fright.
“I’m a beast on the microphone,” she declared, as a VH1 television crew filmed her for an upcoming reality show. “I was more nervous about busting my ass in these 6-inch Yves Saint Laurent heels.”

Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2009 Collection
September 6, 2008
September 6th 2008 – “She is the same girl, she’s sexy, she’s carrying her big bag, and it’s raining!” the funny part is that Tropical storm Hanna drenched New York City when the Alexander Wang show was happening. We’ve been able to make it and we didn’t regret it. The collection was colorful which is new for Alexander Wang, he always used very dark colors or only black in his past collections. Raquel Zimmermann opened the show with a white bathing suit and a blue aged leather perfecto. We got to see the T shirt that are going to be available this spring, the good thing about this line of T shirts is that according to Alex Wang the price tag will start from $40. It’s also the introduction of the wang’s shoe line and handbags line that will “as we already know” be available at Barneys.
The front row was filled up with Sarah from the Paris Concept Store Colette, Julia Reiston Roitfeld, Alice Dellal (alex’s muse), Erin Wasson and her mother, Missy Ryder.

Erin Wasson Cuts Loose From Wang, Launches…Herself
August 7, 2008

Next up on the roster of catwalkers turning to other careers: Erin Wasson.
The model-stylist-skating enthusiast has added clothing designer to her résumé, hammering out a three-year deal to design Erin Wasson for Rvca, the spring 2009 collection of which has been snapped up by Opening Ceremony.
It was, fittingly, at the beach that Wasson first came onto the radar of Rvca founder and pooh-bah of all things Orange County — that would be surfing, skating and tagging — Pat “PM” Tenore. Two years ago, Tenore’s teenage son was participating in a shoot for Australian Vogue at Bondi Beach, where Wasson was the hired model and the main attraction. “He came home and said, ‘Dad, I met the raddest girl!’” says Tenore, who founded the surf- and skate-inspired clothing company out of his Costa Mesa, Calif., garage nearly seven years ago. “I had met her at Rvca parties, so I called her up to see what she was working on, and she had all these amazing ideas. She has a very strong view on what she likes, and she’s a natural at design.”
Amid fashion circles, beyond gracing campaigns from H&M to Balenciaga, Wasson, 26, is perhaps best known for her collaboration with Alexander Wang, whose last two shows she styled and for whom she has served as a sort of in-house muse (Wasson met Wang when he moved into an apartment two floors below hers in Manhattan’s East Village). “Tomboy chic” is what Wasson deems their shared aesthetic — scrawny tanks, lots of denim. “We have the same thought about what a girl should look like,” she says. “Strong girls who are really confident.” Wasson’s jewelry line, Low Luv, was also featured in Wang’s fall 2008 show, though she recently came under fire in the blogosphere for the line’s similarities to designer Bliss Lau’s body chains. “I have the utmost respect for Bliss Lau,” says Wasson. “I admire and appreciate what she has done for the jewelry industry.”
Though they remain good friends, Wasson and Wang are no longer professionally tied, which has freed her to craft a collection that pretty much mirrors her daily uniform and will most likely speak to exactly the kind of woman Wasson is: active and unafraid to show a little skin. For spring, there are Pima cotton tank tops and denim cutoffs, a wool miniskirt and a silk button-down emblazoned with tiny thunderbolts, even a jaunty blazer with an unexpected zipper running up the back.
“I think the problem with surf and skate companies is that the girls’ stuff tends to be a lot of pinks and blues, and [they] just assume that that’s what girls want to wear,” says Wasson. “So I’d buy from the men’s section in the skate shops.”
To be sure, there are no girlish pinks or baby blues in Wasson’s line; the blacks, grays, and whites are hues you’d find upon opening Wasson’s own closet doors (she recalls that as a child growing up in Irving, Tex., her mother “fought to get me into a dress”). A flowered shift is the only piece that could be considered truly feminine (Wasson says she’d toughen it up with combat boots or Vans), though there’s no shortage of sex appeal. The tanks, which retail for $55, are cut low, and the frayed denim shorts, $230, skim the upper thigh.
No doubt the photo-shoot set will find Wasson’s wares perfect additions to a wardrobe suited for nights at the Beatrice Inn, but that was the last thing on the model’s mind when she and Tenore joined forces. “I’m going to get my rocks off seeing girls in California skating around wearing my clothes more than I think I will seeing it in the fashion world,” admits Wasson. All of this is not to say, however, that her posing days are anywhere over. “Oh, no, honey,” she says with a laugh. “You don’t bite the hand that feeds you.”
