Madonna May Wear Bunny Ears for Louis Vuitton Fall 09 Campaign

April 13, 2009

The Material Girl will once again flex her pilate-sculpted body for the Louis Vuitton 2009/10 Fall campaign. Looks like Marc Jacobs may have had Madonna in mind for the fall collection: who else but Madge can do Chic Coquine & Bourgeoise so well?

There is no confirmation if Her Madge-sty will sport the coquettish Bunny Ears” headband on or not.

The campaign will be shot by Steven Meisel in about 2 weeks at the end of April.

Check out the Louis Vuitton looks below. We love them all but we have a special weakness for the “Bunny Ears” headband.

Karl Said: You Can Stick Your iPod In It!

Karl is talking about his new creation: the fur helmet featuring an ipod system. How pratictical! We missed the Karl Largerfeld Fall Winter 2009 show so we don’t have any pictures or videos to report but we received the Look Book. Usually when you attend a fashion show the least you can get is a piece of paper with the look list and description. At Karl Lagerfeld you get Before the show a folder with the LOOKS, the looks that you must focus on, the essence of the collectiion. Karl Lagerfeld is doing this for years and for Chanel as well. Kazuaki Takashima has always been known for showing dramatics collections. This season’s show, staged in a boxing ring at the Tokyo Dome, featured models in Mexican boxing masks with gravity-defying wisps of hair. We love the dress made of cloth dollar bills.

For their Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 Show, a clear tent has been set up in the middle of the Cour Carree du Louvre.

The show started on time with Magdalena Frackowiak setting the record straight: “my top is made of lace & I have no bra

Lace, ruffles, satin, bows, frilled taffeta dresses, everything that would add sexiness to every girl. The show came like a fresh air with its sassier, sexier, coquin spirit.

Flawless make-up, amazing pleated hair with a pearl pin on. Seated on my pink seat I had a hard time holding my camera seeing these 63 sexy models  walking so close to me. The bags were topped with hot pink ruffles, Sequins as embroidery on the LV monogram, pleated satin clutch with LV signature made of studs.

One of the necklace looked like a gold bicycle chain with a pearl in the middle, it turned out that this chain is also used as a handle on one patchwork flap bag made of exotic leather.

Some of the looks were accentuated with a bunny ears headband which gave a chic Bunny Playboy feeling to the collection.

The shoes were high heels pierced with pearl-tipped hat pins; boots laced with velvet ribbons.

The front row was filled by Gong Li, Alexa Chung, Cécile Cassel, Gareth Pugh, Milla Jovovich,Virginie Ledoyen for the most all dressed in Louis Vuitton including Esteban Cortazar wearing Kanye West Sneakers creation for Louis VuittonRachel Zoe was dying backstage for the Collection, making sure the ‘Rachel Zoe Project Crew” was filming her, holding, posing  with the bunny ears on.

Paul & Joe Fall Winter 2009 2010 Fashion Show Video

Wednesday March 11th, 2009 – Carrousel du Louvre – Salle Le Nôtre

Les pièces clés from this collection are definitely the high, tight boots. You can wear them pleated or even squished. Every girl needs a great pair of boots for the Fall!” exclaimed Paul & Joe designer, Sophie Albou, backstage. Pulling aside one of the models before she changes out of her clothing, a beaming Sophie explained, “Everything in the collection is wearable and mixable. You can take this coat, this skirt and this top, and the result is amazing, even if it’s not from the same look.”

This season’s collection captivated us with its modern take on the Parisienne, balancing sexy, sophisticated looks while embodying a jovial, dynamic spirit. Keeping true to Paul & Joe’s roots, the audience needed little convincing in order to see themselves in the clothing: something that many buyers feel will greatly help to push the clothing from the store rack and into client closets.

Mixing sequin dresses with biker boots, grey dresses with expanded, unpadded shoulders, and leather wrap dresses with padded shoulders, Sophie signaled that Fall ’09 was all about dressing comfortably chic. Mini dresses with embroidered military shoulders (our favorite), Jodhpurs and even grey vintage fur coat (a nod to Sophie’s mother) add tinges of retro 80’s chic to the collection.

Some looks even sported beautiful glasses, hinting at Paul & Joe’s upcoming eyewear line that will be available in a couple of weeks.

The front row was filled up by Paris Vogue’s Carine Roitfeld, French actress Emmanuelle Beart and Karine Viard.

For the final passage, Sophie Albou ebulliently strutted the catwalk, “a la Gianni Versace” with models Angela Lindvall, Isabeli Fontana, Eniko Mihalik, Maryna Linchuk and Carmen Kass.

Guy Laroche Fall Winter 2009 2010 Fashion Show Video

Monday March, 9th – Carrousel du Louvre – Salle Soufflot -

Marcel Marongiu found his inspiration on Russian constructivism in designing his collection for Guy Laroche. The collection is based on circles, squares and had futuristic vibe, showing a decided strong woman. The boots are high, made of tight stretch black leather matching the black leather gloves. The first look wore a leather skirt with very interesting volumes, just like if the skirt was a petale of flower. The High waist Large pants are featured by a large leather bandage belt. Then came the succession of sequins dresses, sequins wrapped dress, assymetric ones, other with a zebra print with sequins accents.

Ennio Capasa conjures his women from some hard-core planet where it’s always time for nightclubbing—and the nightclub is the one from a David Lynch movie. For Fall, the fatale of the Costume femme was slightly rough around the edges: red lips; messy, pulled-back hair; and a one-shouldered dress in ruby duchesse satin with ragged seams. There were dresses with halos of trailing Lurex threads, and others haphazardly ruched and suspended from shoulder straps. The phrase “dragged through a hedge backward” came to mind—but such is the strange, louche allure of Capasa’s work.

He did, meanwhile, also prove himself quite capable of a certain bandbox smartness, as seen in a gray flannel fingertip jacket over a matching wrapped mini. But it was more the sparkly, scratchy-looking fabric he used for a strapless top or a paper-bag-waist mini that betrayed the true Nationality of Capasa’s Costume. Now and forever, he loves a bad girl.
