Kevin Carrigan, creative director of ck Calvin Klein and Calvin Klein, showcased a tight fall lineup that focused on sculptural-yet-soft items. Easy tailored suits with rounded shoulders paired with lace-print tops. The dresses are one-shoulder.
In men’s wear, businesslike suits in a gray palette and classically outdoorsy sportswear with modern urban detailing.

In an intimate presentation Thursday, Michael Kors emphasized his lifestyle-store concept, showcasing his Michael Michael Kors better-priced collection alongside Kors outerwear and shoes and Michael Kors accessories. According to the designer, consumers are shopping highlow and mixing it up, and he provided plenty of variety in the Michael lineup: punk-inspired bleached-out jeans, quirky shifts in cheetah and camouflage prints, and a Mod moment in black-and-white striped tops. And for those who opt for investment dressing, there were classic wool trenchcoats and simple black jersey dresses.

Anna Wintour was shocked to learn that Nina Ricci wasn’t renewing designer Olivier Theyskens‘s contract after his incredible fall 2009 show.

In her April editor’s letter, here is what she said:
“Olivier Theyskens‘s recent departure from Nina Ricci suggests to me that the vital role of artistic talent has been obscured in the current economic climate. My staff and I were shocked to learn that Theyskens’s contract would not be renewed; and I am very concerned that the business of fashion is undervaluing the most important asset our industry requires: creative visionaries. There’s a reason we continue to see Theyskens’s influence everywhere, from catwalks to the mall. He’ll be back, but fashion must hold its nerve.”
“The mall”, because the mall has more influence on most US citizens than even Vogue! We can now measure Olivier important’s influence.
Influence talking, we hope that Anita’s influence will help Olivier to find a job very soon, or even better, be sponsored for his own brand again.

For their Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 Show, a clear tent has been set up in the middle of the Cour Carree du Louvre.
A brass band playing can-can music in front of the tent.
The show started on time with Magdalena Frackowiak setting the record straight: “my top is made of lace & I have no bra“
Lace, ruffles, satin, bows, frilled taffeta dresses, everything that would add sexiness to every girl. The show came like a fresh air with its sassier, sexier, coquin spirit.
Flawless make-up, amazing pleated hair with a pearl pin on. Seated on my pink seat I had a hard time holding my camera seeing these 63 sexy models walking so close to me. The bags were topped with hot pink ruffles, Sequins as embroidery on the LV monogram, pleated satin clutch with LV signature made of studs.
One of the necklace looked like a gold bicycle chain with a pearl in the middle, it turned out that this chain is also used as a handle on one patchwork flap bag made of exotic leather.
Some of the looks were accentuated with a bunny ears headband which gave a chic Bunny Playboy feeling to the collection.
The shoes were high heels pierced with pearl-tipped hat pins; boots laced with velvet ribbons.
The front row was filled by Gong Li, Alexa Chung, Cécile Cassel, Gareth Pugh, Milla Jovovich,Virginie Ledoyen for the most all dressed in Louis Vuitton including Esteban Cortazar wearing Kanye West Sneakers creation for Louis Vuitton. Rachel Zoe was dying backstage for the Collection, making sure the ‘Rachel Zoe Project Crew” was filming her, holding, posing with the bunny ears on.

For Fall 2009, Marchesa brings a touch of enchantment to a collection full of Misty colors and airy textiles.
Layers upon layers of pleated tulle and silk chiffon ruffles coalesce lightly with streams of smoky lavender, scarlet and hazy gray.
Shooting stars from throughout various pieces and ribbons are draped lightly over silhouettes. Embroideries cascade down long sleeves and voluminous tulle skirts while dreamy sequins and delicate lace bring a fairytale feel to life.
Natalia Vodianova, Diane Kruger, and Joy Bryant were all amazed by the delicate work on these gowns. “I wanted the whole thing to be like a fairy tale,” explained Marchesa‘s designer, Georgina Chapman. “I wanted to have fantasy.”

Saturday February 14th 2009, 5pm – Roseland Ballroom
The line to enter the Roseland ballroom on 52th street was going all around the street. “which broadway show is the line for” said a women passing by. By the time we’ve got inside we realised that it was going to be a lot of fun, loud late 90′s music, tequila chocolate / tropical topped with Champagne was distributed before the show. Anna Wintour was with her daughter Bee Schaffer, Diane Von Furstenberg came to support Alexander Wang that is CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund’s latest big winner, describing Wang as the most exciting desiner of the moment.
Sarah Jessica Parker was saying that she usually doesn’ come to fashion shows but she loves Alexander Wang’s clothes this is why she is here. Julia Restoin Roitfeld was chatting with Lauren Santo Domingo while Zoe Kravitz and Santogold was posing for photographers.
“This is the type of clothes I love, this is totally me, rock’n roll and confortable” said Erin wasson when asked about Alexander clothes’s Style.
Natasha Polly opened the show wearing a tailored jacket with custom rivet with Michael Jackson’s Thriller on the background. The collection was a succession of 90′s 40 sexy look that everyone will die to get once the collection hit the stores.
We particularly like the wooly demi-cuff cut-out dress with the digital ottoman biker leggings worn by the second model Hannelore, the black metallic croc combat hi-top, the poplin off the shoulder dress, the black oversized leather jacket with saga fox fringe tails, the stretch suede and leather combo cropped leggings, the crystallized Swarovski endless scarf worn by Lily Donaldson, Isabeli Fontana and Trish for the final looks. We overall loved the metal, gunmetal accents on the clothes.
All the looks were perfectly accessorized with beautiful pieces such as the vertebrae earring, desert hats, black velvet combat boots with crystallized swarovski detail, shark cuff and the line of bags made of nappa lambskin leather.
“She wants to have fun, she likes to go out, she is living the time of her life” Said Alexander Wang backstage with Swarovski like sparkling eyes about his girl hitting the runway.
