“These girls are rock icons, I see Francoise Hardy, Anita Pallenberg or even Madonna in my girls” confessed Jill Stuart to Journalists after the show. Leather, lace, velvet mixed with masculine reference re-transcribed in a woman world just like at the Fall Winter 2008 Collection. Ruffle dresses. Leather pants, accessorized with black mother of pearl long necklace.

High heels cropped boots, panama hats topped with flowers define this new Fall Winter 2009 Jill Stuart girl. Romantic and decided.
we love the look 7 (Rock N’ Roll black lace mini dress) worn by Tanya Dziahileva. The cocktail dress is now worn with a hat and wool gloves, as seen on look 9 (drapped bustier dress)

The Rock N’ Roll look is redundant via the leather jacket and pants but even the more feminine ruffle or flower printed dresses have this Rock Star spirit with a romantic touch. It’s all about the attitude pointed out Jill, the gloves and the boots finish the Rock N’ Roll look, once the Embellishment flower dress is worn with flats it can become another girl.

Plenty of possibilities with this Jill Stuart Fall 09 Collection, cocktail dresses, Rock N’ Roll look or romantic style, we couldn’t choose one, we love everything!

Christophe Decarnin for Balmain knows what he doing. About two months ago while everyone celebrity were sporting the Michael Jackson Spring Summer 2009 inspired Jacket, the king of pop was wearing Balmain Fall 2009.
Rihanna was on a girl night out at Phillipe Chow NYC with her pal Katy Perry on July 24th and again wearing Balmain.
The pop pink lipstick and Black leather quilted Fall Winter 2009 Balmain jacket is a good match. This Balmain jacket has tulle and chain link detailing around neck and through front . The kind of jacket that will become as iconic as the MJ inspired ones. Most of these jacket are sold out even before they arrive to the stores, If you’re in love with it and have $13,395 to spend go for it! If I could I would have! The jacket is currently available at NET-A-PORTER but probably not for long.

Karl Lagerfeld insisted to start the beautiful Chanel Cruise 2010 Paris Venice Collection at sunset. It appears that he may have enjoyed it since the Chanel Fall Winter 09 Haute Couture Collection will also start at sunset but this time at the Grand Palais. The designer said couture “has to be like a celebration”. The Chanel Spring Summer 08 Haute Couture Collection was held at the Pavillon Cambon-Capucines in the rue Cambon. The Chanel show is scheduled for July 7 at 9 p.m.
For the Bernhard Willhelm prêt-à-porter Autumn Winter 2009 collection, Bernhard Willhelm & Mykita, the couturiers of ultra-light glasses frames, launch a collection of sunglasses, limited edition models, that are handmade at the MYKITA workshop in the heart of Berlin and will be available in shops in June 2009.
Menswear:
To accompany his ski outfits, three mirrored sunglasses models. The result is a trio of aviator-style sheet-metal frames: FRANZ, SEPP and LUKE.
All models are available in colours matching those of the clothing collection: blue, white and gold.
The FRANZ model was inspired by and named after legendary downhill champion Franz Klammer. The expensive but Spartan design is a conscious reference to the inadequacies of past manufacturing methods.
SEPP is a drop-shaped frame featuring a rather rugged-looking parallel bridge. Its styling harks back to the rudimentary industrial frame-punching techniques of the 1970s.
Last but not least, LUKE is the oversize version of MYKITA’s best-selling model – a sophisticated frame with timeless appeal. The models with a blue finish (applied by hand) are combined with mirrored blue lenses, while the white frames come with positively dazzling red mirror lenses. The real head-turner is the all-gold variety, with lenses and frames together resulting in a glistering nugget-like effect out on the ski run. All three frames are contrasted with silver hinges.
Womenswear:
Two new styles of metal sunglasses, one round, one square were designed together.
From the idea of 70’s style floor length dresses came the inspiration for JANIS. JANIS is a typical 70’s perfectly round and oversized shape, to be worn as Miss Joplin used to do it, slightly low on the nose.
USCHI is the square friend, and an easy to wear and flattering shape. Together JANIS & USCHI form a perfectly contrasting pair.
Both models are available in three versions: gold with brown gradient lenses, gold with gold-mirrored lenses and silver with grey gradient lenses. All three executions feature contrasting hinges: gold features silver hinges and vice versa.

The Material Girl will once again flex her pilate-sculpted body for the Louis Vuitton 2009/10 Fall campaign. Looks like Marc Jacobs may have had Madonna in mind for the fall collection: who else but Madge can do Chic Coquine & Bourgeoise so well?
There is no confirmation if Her Madge-sty will sport the coquettish “Bunny Ears” headband on or not.
The campaign will be shot by Steven Meisel in about 2 weeks at the end of April.
Check out the Louis Vuitton looks below. We love them all but we have a special weakness for the “Bunny Ears” headband.

Thursday April 2nd – 60th Street and Fifth Avenue
On Thursday night, Bergdorf & Goodman hosted a special event with Lanvin’s Albert Elbaz.
“I have many loyal customer in the US, some couldn’t come to the show in Paris, I brought them the show!” said Elbaz about the event.
The show was held on 60th Street and Fifth Avenue held in a majestic room with soaring frescoed ceilings and ballroom chairs, just like if it was in a parisian salon.
“The idea was to have all of you in this beautiful room that is a little bit of Paris. But you open the window and the door and it’s New York. And it’s the best location because Bergdorf Goodman is just behind us” With the intention of re-creating “the magic of a fashion show but in a more intimate way” Elbaz plucked 38 runway looks, some styled with commercial pieces, as well as the rose-covered door frame from his Paris show.
Smart move from Lanvin, bring the show to the costumer isn’t it the best way to promote the new collection. Albert Elbaz travelled especially for the event.
“It’s great that the press is here but the event is for my clients, I want them to see, to feel, to touch the clothes.” said Elbaz.
One client confessed: “I wasn’t impressed with the collection from the images I saw, now that I see it in real it’s a whole different thing, I loved it and want everything”.

Last week, Derek Lam shot his first ad campaign. The brand will advertise in the August issues of Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar. The images are set against a beach (made at Pier 59 in New York), featuring model Karmen Pedaru, who walked in the Fall Winter 2009 runway show. “This is about a woman that is having a personal moment, not a fashion moment,” said Lam.
Creative director Doug Lloyd of Lloyd & Co. said: “We are creating a message that will last more than one season” he added. Lloyd described the images as bold and cinematic, with lush techno color.

The news is fresh from Chanel Paris, the sensational Chanel 2.55 Clear Case that we saw at the Fall Winter 2009 Show won’t be produced.

Creative director Simon Kneen Fall Winter 2009 Collection is about “being prepared for anything and everything in the face of adversity.”
Chunky knits, tailored military jackets, skinny leather pants and silk dresses.
In men’s, Banana is planning to cozy up to its customer. Chunky sweaters, soft scarves and plush outerwear were designed to “make people feel like they’re in a cocoon” said Kneen.
Can you tell the DVF Fall Winter 2009 inspiration in the pictured look?
