G-Star Raw Fall Winter 2011 Collection

Beyond denim wear, G-STAR RAW has always been more than just about jeans and outwear. With Pierre Morisset at the helm, the brand is transformed itself into an ecosystem of ready-to-wear and accessories, with cool, edgy vibe at its backbone. For its Fall 2011 collection, the Raw denim line was crafted using nylon, leather, and industrial materials to create a 3D denim effect.

Showing both mens and women’s wear, the play of masculine textures on feminine silhouettes paired against soft and structured menswear culminated in an energetic display of the brand’s savoir-faire. This season, pieces featured hidden functionalities, based on 1920’s explorers, that were then fused with elegant tailoring. Utility belts,  blown up denim life jackets, cropped US Army jackets, khaki canvas trousers, and city camouflage overcoats with modern geometric prints stood out as some of the most notable pieces.

The color palette is more muted than seasons past, with a focus on indigo, hunting green and utility grey. And with one of the worst winter seasons on record, brand fans will be consoled to know this collection utilizes high tech properties that should keep you warm, windproof and waterproof next winter.

The front row was star-filled with afficionados of the Dutch fashion house, with British actress Gemma Arterton, world no. 1 chess player Magnus Carlsen, Rosario Dawson, Marvel’s “Thor” Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky, Jared Leto, Mena Suvari, Yaya DaCosta, Danny Flaherty, Kiko Mizonara and Sophia Black D’Elia all in attendance.

Jessica Alba Speaks Up Against Arizona’s Immigration Law

Jessica Alba, rapper Common and Rosario Dawson shot a new Voto Latino and Mun2’s “United We Win” promo in Hollywood Thursday. Along with Eva Longoria, Rosario Dawson, and Wilmer Valderrama, Jessica Alba is using her star-power to speak out against Arizona’s controversial immigration law and is encouraging young voters to storm the polls on election day in November. We like that Jessica is speaking up for her Latinas and we support her on fighting against Arizona’s immigration law! Jessica looked amazing as always and We particularly loved her Helmut Lang Fall Winter 2010 Tee , isn’t she even more beautiful when she is serious in front of the camera? Go Jess!

Tommy Hilfiger Fall Winter 2010 Collection

The Tommy Hilfiger Fall Winter 2010 Fashion Show was the last collection shown at the Tents, graciously closing the Bryant Park legacy once and for all. The look for Hilfiger’s latest collection was “Preppy with a Pop”. While each piece is intrinsic to Hilfiger’s brand, they all seemed to have been altered just enough to excite us with something fresh and chic. It was as if the Tommy Boy/Girl left their Ivy League dorms and moved into a Prince Street loft. Tommy’s collection flirts between American glamour and sportswear luxe while redefining classic textures and silhouettes. The Tommy girl of tomorrow wears a modern sleeveless trenchcoat with removable double collar, an oversized wool collar sweater and a romantic puffed tulle skirt.

For its menswear, Hilfiger’s preppy boy look was given a more modern and up-to-date makeover, as we saw with a green cashmere cardigan, navy cashmere blazer and fitted pants. This collection reminded us all that true American luxury still exists and reaffirmed that only Tommy Hilfiger can do it justice.

Bergdorf Goodman Celebrates Bottega Veneta

Less than a block away from the Bottega Veneta 5th avenue Store, a party co-hosted by Julianne Moore & Jim Gold was going on the 7th floor of Bergdorf Goodman.

It’s the celebration of the first time introduction of Bottega Veneta ready to wear, home and accessories at BG.

Upper East Side socials & Italian press was there to congratulate Bottega Veneta creative director Tomas Maier, who appeared to be honored by this party.

Martha Stewart was there with her camera snapping pictures at Chanel Iman for her next blog entry. The party was followed by an intimate dinner at La Grenouille including Mamie Gummer, Arlenis Sosa, Rosario Dawson, Serena Boardman, Todd Meister, Carey Lowell, Tina Barney and Stephen Shore.

Topshop Parties Never Stop

We thought the ultimate evening party was at the Balthazar restaurant followed by the Bungalow, well the hottest party happened yesterday night at The Box,

Topshop opened thursday morning. school girls and fashionistas have been waiting for the store opening since 8 am. Topshop treated their first client like vip’s giving away cheese and bottles of water

“This is it” said Topshop owner Sir Philip Green, upon which he and Kate Moss came out at the top of a box as a gift for photographers.

Were mostly here to see Kate and her new collection confessed a group of girls.

According to Kelly Klein. “These are the clothes we all want to buy right now. It’s cool and young, and cheap.”

“Cheap” for Miss Klein but the school girl’s faces became less joyful as soon as they discovered the price tags.

“is there any special for the opening, discounts?” asked a girl o a sale assistant, the sales person said “no and we won’t be doing the every 3 weeks price reductions that you see often in other similar retail stores“. Ouch!

The store hosted a succession of celebs one after another: Jennifer Lopez, Steve Wynn, Rosario Dawson, Ron Perelman, Poppy Delevigne, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Olivia Palermo, Lily Donaldson, June Sarpong, Jason Wu, Jane Wogan, Genevieve Garner, Chloe Green, Debbie Harry carrying a Stephen Sprouse Roses Monogram Louis Vuitton Clutch, Daria Werbowy, Daria, Daphne Guiness, Beth Ostrosky, Bee Shaffer, Alexander Wang, Zoe Kravitz, Veronica Webb, Lorenzo Martone with Marc Jacobs freshly back from their brazilian honeymoon, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Hudson, James Blunt. They were all AMAZED by the store…

After the dinner Jennifer Hudson took the mic for her paid appearance (a rumored $130,000), at the end of the performance she said: “I wish they made bigger shopping bags at Topshop because I want everything!”
