The red carpet is unfurled and the crowds are gathering on the French Riviera for the start of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival.Festival jurors led by actress Isabelle Huppert will attend Wednesday’s gala opener, Disney and Pixar Animation’s 3-D adventure “Up.”
Isabelle Huppert along with Robin Wright Penn have been seen yesterday wearing Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2009 from head to toe while attending the “Jury diner” at the Hotel Martinez.
“It’s an honor to have Isabelle Huppert as President of the Jury, she has not only starred in almost 100 films and twice won Cannes but she is also representing the elegant french woman” festival director Thierry Fremaux said Tuesday.

It’s the first animated film to open the world’s most prestigious film festival. The next 12 days will see plenty of weightier fare, including movies by Quentin Tarantino, Lars von Trier, Jane Campion, Pedro Almodovar and Ang Lee.
The lineup looks strong, but festival organizers and industry attendees are apprehensive about how the worldwide recession will affect the glamorous event.
The festival runs through May 24, when the top prize the Palme d’Or will be announced.

Diane Von Furstenberg Lands in The Hamptons

We have to be prepared to see even more wrape dresses than usual in the Hamptons starting May 1st! Diane Von Furstenberg is rumored to open her first store in the Hamptons. It will only be seasonal with a possibility to extend.
Does that sound familiar? Hermes is opening a beach store as well from May 20 to Sept. 20, 2009.
So if you’re going to the Hamptons this summer, keep in mind that you will be able to get your Rock Goddess fix or/and Get Shaded on location!

Kate Moss Spring Summer 2009 Collection

Kate Moss and Topshop is a 9 year love story. The first collection launched almost a decade ago was immediately a hit.
The Spring Summer 2009 Collection will be available on March 2nd at the newly New York City Topshop store.
“I love wearing prints, particularly in summer and they’ve proved a real hit in my past collections,” Moss explained. “Whilst researching the spring range we looked at loads of old prints and most of my favourites originated from the Liberty archive.”
“Collaborating with the print studio was an amazing experience,” Moss revealed. “The team are so knowledgeable and were very open to my ideas. The capsule range features original colour combinations exclusive to my spring collection.”
The spring/summer 2009 offering will also feature Moss’ first underwear outing with bras and pants in black lace and cotton florals.

Eres x Vogue Cocktails + Spring Summer 2009 Swimwear Collection First Look

Wednesday February 11th – Eres 621 Madison Avenue – NYC. Eres and Vogue with hosts Amanda Brooks and Celerie Kemble celebrated Vogue First Look with cocktails and a special preview of the Eres Spring Summer 2009 Collection.
We arrived when Tinsley Mortimer left, the store was packed, the only persons moving were the two Eres models. We rushed to the bar to get a drink, a withe wine Sauvignon Santa Rita that we LOVED, tasted like a very very good apple juice (I know there are no relations between apple and white wine).
Eres is a classic when it comes to swimwear, it’s basically the Rolls of the bathing suit. We particularly love the Dallas style (one piece swimsuit in peau douce, in rayon x light yellow – photo 4) , the Mouna ( Top in poeau douce) with the Niagara (Brief in peau douce, amiral navy blue – photo 7), the Road/Mercury (Top and Brief in peau douce, in Espadon beige – photo 5). This “peau douce” material which means soft skin in english is really nice to wear, it’s lie a second skin.
The great thing with Eres is that can choose a different top size and bottom size, so let’s say you’re Pamela Anderson they will treat you like a queen! it is also the other way around. You can also choose any top with any bottom.

Style.com reported earlier this week that the Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2009 campaign featuring Madonna has already been shot. It will be in fact shot tomorrow 11/14/08 by Steven Meisel and not by Mert Alas et Marcus Piggott.
The stylist is Marie Amelie Sauve. Marie Amelie Sauve works as a fashion editor for Vogue Paris and is also a consultant for Balenciaga.
Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2009 Collection

We arrived at the New York State Armory at 8:55 pm and it was a mad house inside. Martha Stewart chasing Helena Christensen to snap a pic, Suzy Menkes taking a paparazzi picture of Jennifer Lopez. Victoria Beckham was still posing for photographs while Nicole Richie was chatting with Rachel Zoe! The show started on time at 9 pm.
The set made of hall of mirrors was quite unusual and was according to Marc Jacobs inspired by the Haute Couture Fall Winter 2008 Chanel show.
Marc Jacobs said backstage: “yes of course I have my reference but who cares, you enjoyed the show that the only thing I care about” when we were all asking for his inspirations. Was it Mary Popins? Broadway insprired? Yves Saint Laurent’s Ballets Russes collection redux? Jacobs was not clear.
We were amazed by the collection as it was a real show, I mean by “show”: a spectacle.
Prairie skirt, Cowboy print shirt twisted with a leather bow skirt, lurex and taffetas… a classic dark grey suit was first on the list of the main buyers such as Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo or net-a-porter’s Nathalie Massenet. Crushed-straw hat, a chunky necklace, and a quilted chain-link bag that will drive us crazy next summer.
Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2009 Collection

September 6th 2008 – “She is the same girl, she’s sexy, she’s carrying her big bag, and it’s raining!” the funny part is that Tropical storm Hanna drenched New York City when the Alexander Wang show was happening. We’ve been able to make it and we didn’t regret it. The collection was colorful which is new for Alexander Wang, he always used very dark colors or only black in his past collections. Raquel Zimmermann opened the show with a white bathing suit and a blue aged leather perfecto. We got to see the T shirt that are going to be available this spring, the good thing about this line of T shirts is that according to Alex Wang the price tag will start from $40. It’s also the introduction of the wang’s shoe line and handbags line that will “as we already know” be available at Barneys.
The front row was filled up with Sarah from the Paris Concept Store Colette, Julia Reiston Roitfeld, Alice Dellal (alex’s muse), Erin Wasson and her mother, Missy Ryder.
