Alexandre Vauthier Couture Fall Winter 2011 Collection

Tuesday July 5th, 2011 – Lycée Henri IV

For its Fall 2011 Couture show Alexandre Vauthier’s  vision is red with passion and energy. Even the venue, the Henri IV Lycee Bibliotheque, was filled with red lights. Beyonce ‘s darling designer  explained his love for the color, noting that “red means ultra-luxury couture” and that it is “an homage to Valentino”. His collection’s inception  began with just a picture, done by Rene Gruau “Rouge Baiser”, signifying the ultimate feminine object; “kiss-proof”, according to his creator.

The designer presented 30 looks including a non-red look, a beige poudré football structure gown, with the most amazing Swarovski Elements embroidered by Lesage to close the show. The first look was an 80?s inspired piece paired with a red fur coat;  then a sign of wealth.  The red evolves from blood red to red blast and red camaieu. Seduction and sensuality were injected into every thread on these dresses. Backless jumpsuits, billowing gowns with plunging necklines,  chiffon halters, and velvet tuxedos are paired with red Christian Louboutin shoes, which has always been a supporter of Vauthier.
