Salvatore Ferragamo’s Fifth Avenue flagship, the brand’s largest boutique has reopened on Friday April 6, after 13th weeks of renovation. The 20,000-square-foot space is now in perfect adequacy with Ferragamo Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti’s aesthetic. The store features womenswear, menswear, accessories, shoes, and also the fine jewelry line launched in the fall. The luxurious store has a dedicated space for the highly coveted Spring 2012 runway printed pieces seen on the campaign face Gisele Bundchen above.
“The Women’s Spring Summer collection is an explosion of color and prints,” says Massimiliano Giornetti.
“I enjoyed exploring the playful and glowing side of a woman who throws herself without reservation into the joys of summer… Silk scarves have always been a Ferragamo hallmark, and the inspiration and use of the scarves coincided with my plans to update the maison’s original iconography and achieve the perfect balance between fashion trends and the culture that has always been part of the Ferragamo DNA.”
The re-opening comes in conjunction with the launch of luxury getaway guidebook Mr. & Mrs. Smith Hotel Collection: Italy on Thursday, April 12th to benefit The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Pediatric Family Housing Endowment.
Hosts Massimo and Chiara Ferragamo along with MSKCC chairmen Nina Garcia Conrod, Eugenie Niven Goodman, Emilia Fanjul Pfeifler and Gretchen Gunlocke Fenton will join VIP guests including James Ferragamo for a night themed Summer Holiday with music by DJ Solange Knowles in the beautifully re-designed space.
To coincide with this spirit of travel themed fete, Ferragamo will debuts the Travel Luggage Collection set to launch this summer. This unique luxury line features traditional leather artisan details paired with modern, functional and inventive materials such as polycarbonate, PVC and aluminum.
