Friday February 12th, 2010 – Exit Art

For their Ruffian Fall 2010 show. Brian Wolk and Claude Morais inspirations were Paris on the moon, a Parisian girl from, specifically, the 7th Arrondissment, who happens to be on her way to the moon. The Hubble Space Craft’s photos of Orion, Van Gough’s “Starry Night”. Astrology and the moon Antique constellation prints and images of Orion taken by the Hubble telescope decorated the designers’s silk blouses. The jackets are cropped with sequins touches, the pants are high-waisted and there was an oversize sweater mini dress entirelly made of sequins. We loved the Double breasted peacoat with faux collar in leather. Inverted pleat detail at the back fastens at the front with black buttons and a Constellation print lining. We also loved (and we were not the only one) the Grey mohair knit pullover that would go with anything for the fall, from a pair of leggings to a flared skirt. The jackets and coats were tailored with gold buttons. The gold buttons were also found inĀ  the high knee navy wool boots created by Christian Louboutin for Ruffian, in both over the knee and ankle. A moon manicure in navy blue and white gold to match the custom blue and gold-buttoned Louboutin booties that were created by CND’s Jan Arnold for the show Herve van der Straeten signed the gold jewelry.
