Mrs. Obama met with the iconic South African leader Tuesday on the second day of a week-long trip to southern Africa. While traveling through South Africa last week the First Lady showed to the world that she is also sporting American designers. Last week in Gaborone, at Botswana-Baylor Adolescent Center she was mural painting and her attire included a pair of Alexander Wang Doodle Print jeans. What is interesting is that the first lady painting and the back story behind the creation of the Doodle Print have some similarities. When working on the collection last year, the print was handmade by the design team over a week’s time as a collective effort of introverted expression forming an ‘unconscious scrible’. The result made the Spring Summer 2011 Show.
