Why Redken Nature’s Rescue will save your hair this winter

With one of the worst winters on record in the U.S, it’s no shocker that one’s hair suffers the most, often losing volume and strength due to the brutal cold. Sure, a little jaunt to the Caribbean would resolve it but for those that can’t go, Redken’s Nature’s Rescue seeks to bring the beach to your shower.

We had the chance to try the Redken “Nature’s Rescue” line this week and found that our hair no longer looks like a flatter imitation of the Bieber-cut. As you dab a smidget of Refreshing Detox Shampoo into the hair, you quickly notice two things: the velvety soft texture of the shampoo and the cool, tingling sensation at the roots. One could feel the cooling effect working its detoxification magic across the cranium; as if the toxicity of tainted winter slush completely evaporated from the body.

After a quick rinse, we applied the Refining Sea Polish, to scrub out any trace elements stuck in the hair. You would never think to apply a pumice-based scrub INTO the hair since it could be a pain to get those little grains out; you usually reserve such treatments solely for the face and body. Still, it worked here, and after getting over a bit of apprehension and making sure we’d carefully read the instructions, applied it vigorously to the hair roots. The result was almost like night and day. After rinsing out the scrub and drying the hair, we noticed an immediate change in terms of volume and strength; without a need to reach for our Redken Wax Blast bottle, our hair looked fluffy, strands looked shiny, and overall volume appeared as it did circa-summer last year.

After styling, we added a bit of Radiant Sea Spray. Refreshed, energized, and radiant, our hair hasn’t felt this good in a while. Now only if these little bottles of summer could actually make summer come sooner.

But if you really want to see what Nature’s Rescue can do on hair that’s been battered by the weather elements and over-treatment, make sure to follow Redken this upcoming New York Fashion Week. After seeing Creative Hairstylist Guido Palau style lifeless hair into vibrant runway creations at the Alexander Wang Spring 2011 and the Louis Vuitton Spring 2011 shows, we’re pretty sure he’s going to be reaching for Nature’s Rescue to bring flat hair back to voluminous life.
